Thousands swarm Kelowna’s Rutland for Vaisakhi celebrations

An estimated 7,000 people attended the parade

It was a sight to see as at the Vaisakhi parade in Kelowna on April 27.

Rutland was overwhelmed with an estimated 7,000 people for the annual Sikh celebration of spring harvest.

Kelowna Councillor Mohini Singh said, “It was a fantastic event with people of all different backgrounds coming together to celebrate. The Vaisakhi parade has become one of Kelowna’s big attractions.”

Singh added that she loves how the event draws people from all across the region.
