Razzle dazzle, and a whole lot of fun is on its way to Revelstoke.

The upcoming Revelstoke Winter Carnival will be featuring lots of fun events, such as a return of the historic outhouse races. For those looking for something a little more sparkly, they can check out the Razzle Dazzle Drag Extravaganza on March. 2, 8 p.m. at the Revelstoke Legion.

The event will be hosted by Kelowna’s Ms. Freida and will feature eight performers: Freida Whales (Kelowna, Whalemade Productions), Fuchsia Bush (Kelowna, Whalemade Productions), Valerie Rose (Kelowna, Whalemade Productions), Syren Call (Kelowna, Whalemade Productions), Jane Hustle (Calgary), Liv Bright (Calgary) and the Datona siblings (Revelstoke).

“It’s going to be a big, fun drag show for everyone to enjoy,” said Ms. Freida.

This isn’t the first time Ms. Freida has been to Revelstoke, having previously hosted a paint night in coordination with the Revelstoke Arts Centre. Ms. Freida is excited for the event, and believes that drag, art and carnivals all go together.

Before the evening show, those looking to get into the drag spirit can participate in the drag races, hosted by Hailey Johnston on March. 2, 2 p.m., at Centennial Park. The event is a potato sack style race and will feature ‘dress-up clothing’, wigs and hats to adorn participants while they race. “It will be a silly, fun time,” said Johnston.

While the Razzle Dazzle Drag Extravaganza has a capacity of 250 people, it is already half sold out, so those wishing to attend are encouraged to grab their tickets soon.
