You’ve likely heard of your local chamber of commerce, but may wonder, ‘What does it actually do?’

Founded in 1895, the Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit, membership-driven organization, today comprising of 360 businesses, community organizations and professional

individuals.

Its mission? To support the needs and interests of members through four critical service areas: Advocacy to all levels of government, education and resources, networking events and member benefits.

“The Chamber’s purpose is to be a hub of connection for businesses and organizations in Revelstoke,” says Caroline Lachapelle, Executive Director.

Advocacy

The Chamber promotes members’ interests at round tables with cabinet ministers and has direct communication with government bodies. Current advocacy projects include pushing for government support for expanded and improved commercial recycling options for businesses as well as transparency and communication on commercial taxes.

Education, Resources and Events

The Chamber hosts events to share timely knowledge with members to support and grow their businesses.

Recent events include ChatGPT for Non-Profits, Zoning Bylaw Re-write with the City of Revelstoke and Chambers Plan health benefits.

Recordings of educational events are available for members to ensure they can maximize the use of these sessions.

“Our in-person events provide value in many ways, allowing members to connect with us and with their peers, to share insights and discuss mutual challenges and opportunities,” says Lachapelle.

Member Benefits

“There are a lot of savings that come with membership,” Lachapelle says. “OurMember2Member Benefit program lets you share exclusive discounts, partnerships, and connect with fellow members to expand your network.”

Joining the Chamber also unlocks a suite of benefits, including rate advantages on health insurance plans, discounts on products and services such as POS processing, fuel and travel and an extensive suite of marketing opportunities.
